Micro-dosing has been such a HUGE support for me as I’ve navigated big transitions over the last year. Exaclty one year ago, my work with mushrooms helped me gain the clarity and strength to finally leave a toxic long term relationship, and exactly one month later I was opening my own full time retreat center, Sanadora Sanctuary! I can’t say it’s always so dramatic 😅 (thank goodness!) but the practice has continued to help me gain clarity, feel connected to Self and Source, feel more grounded, open, and supported in general. If you’ve ever wanted to experience the bigger picture of micro-dosing, we are here to support you. You may recognize those who have experienced loss as people with a depth of authenticity and ability to hold space for the full spectrum of life experience… They embody the deep wisdom of integrating all aspects of self, including the shadow. These courageous ones have faced the inevitable and turn toward life and each other with an expanded capacity for compassion and presence.

What a gift to have people in your life who can witness your weaknesses or vulnerability, who see you in your true light and can be present for all of your self expressions, including the shadowy aspects of self that sometimes we wish to keep hidden.

Our Sanctuary and community were blessed this weekend by the presence of a beautiful Reiki Master, Laurence Fontaine of CDMX, sharing the teachings, practices, and initiations in this life-enriching spiritual and healing art. Violeta was happy to serve as a demo for offering Reiki to animals 🥰😍💜🦄

On a personal note, when I received my certificate, I noticed the date was September 1, which was the birthday of my precious youngest sister who is now a beloved ancestor. Although it was not intentional, this could not have been a more perfect way to honor her, and the ways that she called forth the healer within during my own life path. A big reason Sanadora Sanctuary exists as a sanctuary for healing!

An hour later I learned from my other sister @katiafishercrippen, who is a healer herself, completed her Reiki I way back in 1999, on September 1st.

And then the moth, in Sara’s favorite colors … I’ve never in my life seen a yellow moth with pink markings! 💖🪽🌼

Plant medicine isn’t just about tripping. It’s

Plant medicine isn’t just about tripping. It’s an opportunity to enter into an intimate relationship with nature, and discover the many plants that people have engaged in medicinal and spiritual practices across cultures and throughout history. One of my favorites is Pirul, or the pepper tree. I always loved pepper trees growing up in California and was delighted to learn of the significant cultural and spiritual importance of the Pirul (Schinus molle) in Mexican Healing traditions. I’ve especially enjoyed its refreshing use in a Temazcal, with its lovely fragrant leaves used in the steam lodge ritual.

🌿Purification & Protection: Pirul is used to ritually cleanse and protect people, places, and objects.
🌿Rituals: Pirul is used in rituals such as weddings and blessings for fertility and new homes, and to convey prosperity and abundance.
🌿Honoring Ancestry: In some traditions, Pirul is believed to provide a connection to the afterlife.
🌿Medicinal uses: The tree’s leaves, bark, and berries are used in traditional medicine remedies.
🌿Día de Los Muertos: Pirul is used in altars and rituals during the Day of the Dead celebrations.

Next time you walk past a pepper tree, take a moment to inhale the bright fragrance from the leaves or crush some of the pepper seeds in your hands for an even stronger hit of aromatherapy, and enjoy! Take a mindful moment to realize your own connection to nature and divinity and all the blessings that brings. Give thanks. 🌿🙏🏼
